ZAMBIA | 2024

In 2024, I joined The Hunger Project’s Thrive Immersion Trip to Zambia as their dedicated photographer and videographer. My role was to capture both the powerful work of the community partners on the ground, as well as the experiences of the trip participants—delivering photography and video that could be used for ongoing storytelling and marketing.

This included filming key interviews with the trippers and Global CEO Rowlands Kaotcha.

I’ve always had a deep connection to The Hunger Project’s mission, so this trip went far beyond content creation. I wanted to capture the essence of what The Hunger Project stands for—shifting mindsets, bringing communities together, and showcasing the incredible resilience and potential of the human spirit when people realise they are the "masters of their own destiny," as Global CEO Rowlands Kaotcha so powerfully put it.

I fell in love with both Zambia and its people, and loved every part of filming, photographing, and editing this story.

Below is a selection of images from the trip, along with the Thrive film I created for The Hunger Project.

SJ travelled with us to Zambia in late 2024 and was the perfect collaborator - culturally sensitive, non-intrusive, adaptive and positive!

I was blown away by the content she was able to capture during the busy itinerary; she really captured the essence of our work and made our staff, trip attendees and community partners feel comfortable and supported to share their stories.

On the delivery side, she was super organised with file naming and folders, which saved us so much time and made using the content easy and straightforward.

The videos she produced were incredibly well received and picked up by our Global marketing team. I would highly recommend SJ as a content partner.
